Our trip will begin at 4:00 a.m., when we head for the village of Cusipata. Here we will stop for a good breakfast. Then we will go to Phulawasipata at an altitude of 4633 meters (a journey of approximately three hours). We will begin our adventure in the Andes of Cusco by walking up to the so-called “rainbow mountain”. Along the way, we will have fine views of the great sacred mountain Ausangate. The walk to the top of the Mountain of Seven Colors will take around two hours, as we cover approximately seven kilometers at altitudes ranging from 4633 meters to 5100 meters. The ascent will be gradual and the spectacular views of mountains, lakes and canyons very special. The walk to this multicolored mountain will also give us the chance to observe different species of South American camelids, including llamas, alpacas and vicuñas, and to see the typical stone houses of local shepherds, with their thatched roofs.

After a two-hour walk we will reach the Mountain of Seven Colors, where there will be plenty of time to enjoy the spectacular and magical scenery of this naturally formed mountain. Here, our guide will tell us more about the Mountain of Seven Colors and the sacred peak of Ausangate.

After resting for a while, we will return by the same route to the village of Cusipata, where we will sit down to a delicious lunch, after which we will board our vehicle for the return trip to the city of Cusco
